Experience

Northrop Grumman, Space Systems — Summer 2021
Vehicle Engineering — Controls and Dynamics Intern

  • Developed a model of a GPS-receiver based on sub-contractor documentation to triangulate the position of the NGP satellites. The wrapped model utilized the 1553b protocol to interact with other components of the proprietary simulation.
  • Integrated a flexible, constrained-dynamics model built with FEA tools into the dynamics simulations.
  • Verified successful implementation of these MATLAB models by analyzing system responses and telemetry signals. Presented the technical report to management.

Mercedes-Benz R&D North America — 9/2020 – 3/2021
Powertrain Engineering Intern (System Integration and Test)

  • Calibrated Exhaust Pressure Sensor
    • Designed INCA experiment and researched system architecture to isolate flaws.
    • Prepared vehicle for testing: uploaded ICU datasets via CAN and recorded engine wear.
    • Analyzed test data and wrote technical report for Daimler AG.
  • Developed data analytics and management tools in Excel (VBA and MATLAB).

Robotics and Mechanisms Laboratory UCLA — Current
Undergraduate Research Assistant

  • Designed a robotic gripper mechanism to function as a manipulator and force sensor.
  • Analyzed the effects of a variable stiffness actuator using electrodynamics simulation tools.

LED Projects

  • Programmed individually addressable W2812 LEDs using Arduino and the FastLED library to visualize music via a Fast Fourier Transform algorithm.  Soldered strips into pixel art with a 25W power supply.

Bruin Racing FSAE Team — 2018 – 2020
Drivetrain and Powertrain Team Member

  • • Optimized final drive ratio via MATLAB analysis on sprocket configurations.
  • • Designed rear wing mount and internal structure in SolidWorks, and analyzed load cases using Ansys to ensure design can withstand competition safety criteria.

VeX Robotics Competition | Coast Guard Academy “Robotics on the Water” — 2015 – 2018

  • Lead student teams in designing and programming robots to accomplish competition tasks. Wrote, tested, and implemented ROBOT-C scripts to control actuators and use feedback from sensors.
